But let’s take my “wrong assumptions” one by one.
1. “You think it’s perfectly fine for your leader to have sex with teenagers and married women, but you tell your children you’d rather they be dead than lose their virginity.”
2. What leaders are you referring to?
Are you really this ignorant of your own religious history?
Are you unaware of Joseph Smith’s practice of polygamy and polyandry?
Or are you just being coy?
N.B. : (“Singles Ward” is good, but “Schindler’s List” is inappropriate due to its “R” rating.)
This is sad but I still allow films of merit into my home no matter the rating. But most R rated movies are not worth the celluloid they were printed on.
You would be the exception. Since President Benson, the church has consistently taught that R rated films are inappropriate.
3 “Everyone in your church was “saved for the last days,” but everyone else just happened to be born in really wicked times.” This contradiction does not exist in the doctrine of the church. The last days are wicked times.
Give me a break. My parents were taught that they were reserved for the last days, I was taught the same, and so were my children. I’m betting you were, too.
3. “You make fun of the pope’s funny hat but think nothing about sacred underwear.” It is in poor taste that people make fun of the clothing of others, wither it be “Mormon,” Catholic, or Celt… It is not due to the church that people fun at others, it is due to their feelings of their own insignificance.

When has an old geezer touch your naked body with oil and water?
How old are you? I’ve experienced that more times than I care to remember.

Look up the word “apologist.”
6. “To suggest that women get an education and have a career is to deny their God-given role, while criticizing polygamy is anti-feminist.”
The church has supported and maintains that it is good for women to get an education, if they choose to work outside the home they are not looked down upon.
That’s an outright lie.
7. “You love funeral potatoes, fried scones, and ice cream, but you disdain coffee drinkers for being unhealthy.”
It’s not a health issue, it’s an obedience issue.
That one you get partial credit for. In the early church, it was about advice and healthy living; it was never about obedience. Of course, it is more so now.
8. “You feel uplifted by your own church’s testimony meetings, but other people’s expressions of religious fervor are creepy.”
Who claims other religions are creepy?
If you haven’t heard that, you are young.
9. Here is one statement you made that mostly calls good evil and evil good:
“You are proud of your self-restraint in not doing things you like (such as masturbate) and your fortitude in forcing yourself to do things you don’t like (such as going to meetings).”
That is a total misreading of what I said.
Either you’re appallingly ignorant of your own religion, or you’re just one more obfuscating apologist.
